Too Fast???

I have reached a milestone. At the track run last night I was running a quarter mile in under 3 minutes (!), which prompted my kick-ass running coach, Dror, to tell me I was going "too fast"! Can you believe that? Ran 12-quarter mile laps (that's 3 miles, kids!) in record time. I am psyched!

This isn't supposed to be weekly!

I have worked out since last week...just not very much. I have spent most of my time gulitily puppy-sitting (as I am not around much during the week, I feel an urgent need to bond!) I've also been really sore lately (left hip - hasn't "gotten right" since Saturday before last.) I really don't have much to add this post...just wanted to let you know I'm still hanging in there!

Kickstart My Arse!

ACK! I stink. Since my last post, I had a great track run with some of the other Team-in-Trainers (ran/walked 4 miles at a consistent pace and wasn't completely worn out, so that's good.) But since last Thursday (and that's...let's see...1,2,3,4 days) I haven't strapped on the old sneaks! Not that I've been wasting away on the sofa - oh, heaven's no! If chasing after a puppy who is using various parts of your living room for a potty and attempting to remove all of the mulch from our front yard one piece at a time was an athletic event, I'd be a champ! Between Boo and work I am bushed. Add to that a lack of quality time with the hubby, and you can see I have my excuses all lined up neatly in a little row! I emailed my coach and hope to get back on track (after today, of course - today's excuse is the Motley Crue show in Orlando - if I'm a little extra-sore tomorrow after I run it will be well worth it!) At least last week I was still out-running one of the girls who is doing the October marathon! Just got to get the eye of the tiger back - the big race is only a few months away!

Wish someone actually read this...

I need motivation, that's all there is to it! Missed training last night because of an extended, super-stressful day at work and a general lack of sleep and tiredness. Blah, blah, blah, huh? Wish I could get motivated and run as easily as I can make excuses! I have a track run tomorrow and there's actually going to be a group run Sunday morning close to my house, so hopefully I'll be able to get caught up a little.

If anyone is reading this - and would like to give any advice as to getting off my bum and running, please feel free to post comments here!

SO glad I'm not having kids...

Our new dog, Boo, is proving to be quite the handful. I am now keeping "new Mommy" hours - up at 6am the latest, bed before 11. And I am SO tired! Who knew that a small ball of white fluff could take up so much of my time?

Ok, not really an excuse, because I have done a little running (Sunday and Monday - a holiday even!) If I take some time off, that first day back is really hard! My right ankle seems to be the recipient of a lot of pain on those days. I have been running/walking 25 minute runs both days (still at about a 12 minute mile.) I desperately need some motivation (and a workday nap time!) I am a few hundred shy of my donation total, so hopefully that won't be a worry much longer. I'm generally stressed, so I'm sure that isn't helping! But, I did sign up for a 5K in October, so I can see how well/poorly I do in a somewhat competitive forum. I lost my gym buddy so I have to rely on myself to get my butt going (and my increasingly muscular legs - one down side is that my pants are getting tight in the legs, and I haven't gained any weight. Yuck! Oh well, more soon. As you can probably ascertain, my brain is frazzled and I'm sure it reflects here. I hope to have more clear-headed entries in the very near future.
